The HTML title element in each HTML in the EPUB needs to be set to the name of the chapter.
I’ve know this for a long but it bears repeating: the biggest obstacle to moving eLangdell Press books to the Pressbooks platform is that the eLangdell books are built as print books. Pressbooks is a digital first platform intended to be used build digital resources. The transfer from print to digital, if done right, requires a fair amount of restructuring of the print artifact that results in a rebuilt digital work.
Trying 3 different file formats: HTML, EPUB, DOCX.
The big question is which format requires the least amount of work to get into a well structured Pressbook.
My initial take is that EPUB is going to be the best format for importing, though it may be possible to work with the raw HTML as an alternative. The Word doc is not remotely ready for importing.
This morning I’m going to be working on lawbooks.cali.org, figuring out the best import path to get eLangdell® Press books into the Lawbooks system. Once there we’ll have pretty amazing API access to the book. We should be able to some real cool rip, mix, learn stuff.
Found the rule so new folks signing up get added to the CALIcon18 group when they validate the account with the link in the email.
New twist: new users not getting added to the conference, making it hard to create sessions for the conference. It’s kicking around in here somewhere.
Need to figure out how to link new sessions to the proper conference.
I’m writing all this down so I know what to do next year and on and on.
